Scrabulary Word of the Day - 06-18-17 "SCHLOTHES"

SCHLOTHES = SCHOOL+ CLOTHES

In honor of Father's Day, a really great father reminds his son that some of his clothes are for a particular purpose.   Directing his son to a pile of clean laundry, he said:

"Those are your schlothes."

Many thanks to friends for a great Scrabulary word!!

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 06-17-17 "OWAIGHT"

OWAIGHT = OKAY + ALRIGHT

My grandson was instructed to get his pajamas on as it was bedtime.  Because this instruction did not agree with his personal timing of things, he became flustered and with annoyed affirmation hollered:

"Owaight!"

In the mind of a 4 1/2 year old, it's never a good time to be told it's bedtime!

Scrabulary "Phrase" of the Day - 06/16/17 "I'M AT THE END OF MY STRAW"

"I'M AT THE END OF MY STRAW!" = I'M AT THE END OF MY ROPE! + THIS IS THE LAST STRAW!

Sometimes a Scrabulary phrase instead of a word comes along and this one is worth sharing.

My son-in-law has been dealing with a contractor for almost a year after a huge hail storm severely damaged their home.  Even though the contractor was given a good score by the Better Business Bureau, they have shown themselves leaders of incompetency.  After receiving yet another email trying to explain away their incompetencies, my son-in-law said:!"

"I'M AT THE END OF MY STRAW!"

So exasperating!!

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 06-03-17 "EREA"

EREA = ERA + AREA

Beetie and I perused a lovely antique shop in downtown Colorado Springs.  The piped-in music via "I Heart Radio" was of the 60's era.  We were examining all the treasures and humming to the tunes.  It was a relaxing stroll through different eras of furniture, knickknacks, etc.  Upon leaving the shop, Beetie said:

"If you wanted to put together an erea in your home, this is the place to find things to do it."

Fun!
