Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-30-15 "RWET"

RWET = RAINY + WET

Beetie was driving me to work on a rainy morning.   We always look for the herds of pronghorn along the way.  I was looking around and said:

"Are the pronghorn out? Naw, it's too rwet."

Asking and answering my own question.

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-29-15 "SCUSHY"

SCUSHY = SOFT + CUSHY

Beetie was trying on different brands of athletic shoes.  He was looking for one with a cushion insole. I said:

"The Hoka One One is a scushy one."

Utmost in comfort required,

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-25-15 "STIFFIN"

STIFFIN = STICKING + STUFF'N

Dubby had given Swunnie some crackers in a bowl.  He observed that Swunnie was chewing rather slowly and said:

"Swunnie is either eating super slow or stiffin 50 crackers in his mouth."

Haha! Swunnie did the same thing yesterday on my watch. I wondered if he was gonna get them swallowed.  A good swig of water helped.  Ah kids!

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-23-15 "TOUPLE"

TOUPLE = TWO + COUPLE

Swuvie and her Dubby are getting away this weekend.  Beetie and I are taking care of  Swunnie.  She was so excited about the trip.  I asked her if she got any sleep last night.  She said:

"I got a touple hours."

I'm just as excited about spending time with Swunnie!

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-17-15 "MUGS"

MUGS = MOTHS + BUGS

Another common word with an uncommon definition the Scrabulary way!

It's that time of year again where the miller moths pay a visit.  Swuvie had the front door open and several moths were camped around the door frame.  Swunnie saw them, went to grab one and Swuvie said:

"No, baby, don't touch the mugs."

Miller Moths--harmless but annoying,

LUMMY = LOVELY + YUMMY

Beetie prepared a beautiful bowl of fruit and yogurt for me. I looked at it and said:

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-15-15 "TRUGG'N"

TRUGG'N = PLUGGING + TRUCK'N

I was at my desk at work when my boss came by and asked if I felt I was finally getting caught up. I replied:

"Yes, I just keep trugg'n."

Keep trugg'n along,

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-10-15 "DOD"

DOD = DOES + DID

Swuvie sent me a text with this Scrabulary Word of the Day.  She was putting together a package of her Thirty-One products for donation to a raffle and said:

"Show them it looks good and special like this dod."

Love Thirty-One products,

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-09-15 'VIOTING"

VIOTING = VIOLENCE + RIOTING

Last Sunday (5/3/15) I was watching Meet the Press and Chuck Todd interviewed the mayor of Baltimore, MD, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.  Baltimore had just sustained a night of rioting in protest of the treatment of Freddie Gray who died while in custody of the Baltimore police.  Todd asked her if she regrets saying "space to destroy" (the online version says she actually said "Space was given to protestors in Baltimore who 'wished to destroy'.") She replied:

"I would never condone vioting."

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-08-15 "BLASHING"

BLASHING = BLINKING + FLASHING

Beetie and I were heading north on the highway.  A truck was driving on the southbound side of the highway with its lights flashing.  I said:

 "I wonder why he's got his lights blashing."

Guess I'll never know,

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-03-15 "GRISCUITS & BAVY

GRISCUITS & BAVY = BISCUITS & GRAVY

There was a discussion about what everyone was bringing to a potluck.  One person spoke up suggesting a few people bring biscuits and gravy.  I said:

"I think I'll bring an egg casserole because I've never been a griscuits & bavy fan."

Variety is the spice of life after all,

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-02-15 "BLAIN BROCK"

BLAIN BROCK = BRAIN BLOCK

I was chatting with Swuvie by phone and she was about to tell me something, was distracted and couldn't remember what she was going to say.  A little frustrated, she said:  "I wish I could remember what I was going to say."  I replied:

"It'll come to you.  You just had a blain brock."

No one, young or old, is safe from [pause for effect] the BLAIN BROCK!

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-01-15 "BUGGIE"

BUGGIE = BUG OUT + BOOGIE

I was at work getting ready to go to lunch and a co-worker stopped me to chat.  I looked at my watch and noticed I had better get going or my half-hour lunch break would be over.  I said to her:

"Well, I better buggie."

A half-hour lunch break seems like two minutes in the course of a 10-hour workday.
