Scrabulary Word of the Day - 3-29-14 "PONENT"

PONENT = PHONE + PAYMENT

At work, I answered the phone asking how I  may direct the call and the caller said:

"I just want to make a ponent."
 
For clarification, I asked if the caller wanted to make a payment over the phone.  The caller said:  "Yes, that's what I meant.[haha]"

SNOERS = SNOW + SKIERS

While watching the Olympics several weeks ago, I was amazed at the speed of the downhill skiers and said:

"The speed of these downhill snoers is mind boggling."

INQUESTING = INQUIRING ABOUT & REQUESTING

I called a sewing machine store needing information about an upcoming class and said:

"I am calling inquesting information regarding the embroidery workshop this weekend."

When answering the phone at work, I was preparing to transfer the caller to the appropriate department and said:

"I will transfer you--oneoment, please."
