I was at a restaurant with my daughter, son-in-law, 15-month-old grandson and my husband.  My grandson had a plastic spoon in one hand and a straw in the other.  He decided to play with the spoon and dropped the straw on the floor.  Upon seeing this, my daughter said:

"Look, he dropped the spaw for the other."

I took a picture of Beetie standing on a ladder 18' above the ground painting our house (which is quite a feat since falling from a ladder that went out from under him on a friend's construction site two years ago).  He downloaded the photo onto the computer and said:  "The picture you took of me on the ladder turned out great!"  I replied:

"Wonderful! I'm glad it was ogood!"

He conquered his fear and the house looks beautiful!

Beetie and I were window shopping at the local mall.  The new Spring colors and styles were being displayed.  We noticed that the colors and styles seemed reminiscent of the 70's and Beetie said:

"We could be in style just by buying at the local Salvation Army thrift shtop."

Dubby's employer takes spreadsheet terminology and changes the meaning of yet another familiar word the Scrabulary way.

In a presentation during a staff meeting, Dubby's employer said:

"I will have to change the valuables on the spreadsheet."

Scrabulary Word of the Day -1-4 "DEBARK"

DEBARK  =  DEPART + EMBARK

My son and his girlfriend  had taken a trip to visit her parents over the Christmas holiday.  It takes about a day of driving to get there. When they were getting ready to leave for the return trip home, my son said:

"Let's make sure we've got gas and goodies before we debark on this little journey."

And, thankfully, they got home safely.
