Scrabulary Word of the Day - 5-27 "CRAMPLED"

CRAMPLED = CRUSHED + TRAMPLED

This darn Colorado weather prompted today's Scrabulary word.

"I sure hope it doesn't hail or our new plants will get crampled."

Fingers crossed,

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 5-26 "SHFSANDALS"

SHFSANDALS = SHOES + FLIP-FLOPS + SANDALS

This Scrabulary word was created by indecision.  I was shopping for some summer shoes and came across a pair I liked and said:

"I think I like these shfsandals."

Holy cow! I just couldn't decide what to call them, I guess.

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 5-25 "STLARES"

STLARES = STARTLES + SCARES

Today's word is courtesy of Swuvie.

"Poppy stlares easily when he's sleeping."

"Poppy" is the name Swuvie gave her dad/my husband as his "grandpa" name for our grandboy Acelin.  Mine, as grandma, is "Meemaw".  We love it!

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 05-19 "DISABILITATION"

DISABILITATION = DISABILITY + SITUATION

Beetie and I were watching a news program that ran a segment on multi-generational co-habitation.   It is more common than most people think.  My daughter and son-in-law generously shared their home with us when a lack of employment required the selling of our home 2 1/2 years ago.  We were only recently able to move into a place of our own.   There are many reasons why a family might decide to combine households.  Beetie said:

"A younger or older family member could find themselves in a disabilitation."

Caring for one another,

THUMTHING = THING + SOMETHING

I was flipping through the channels the other night when I couldn't sleep and came across David Letterman.  He was introducing a segment and he said:

"We put together a little thumthing."

Wasn't that great,

AMUSEMING = AMUSEMENT + ENTERTAINING

Today's word is courtesy of my precious daughter, Swuvieduv.

Not sure what inspired her to make this statement but it must have been enjoyable.

"Now that's amuseming."

Thanks for a great word, Swuvieduv,

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 5-11 "WEYES"

WEYES = WATERY + EYES

Sometimes, when my 9-month-old grandboy cries, it's just for attention and no real tears.  However,  the other day his gums were sore trying to cut teeth and when his mom handed him to me I said:

"Aw, there he is with his weyes--real tears! Poor baby."

He's 100% PRECIOUSNESS!

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 5-10 "CHELP"

CHELP  = "CHECK" THAT FOR YOU + "HELP" YOU

To pick up on the theme of my last blog entry.....

As receptionist, I directed a caller with a specific request to our customer service representatives saying:

"I will pransfer you to a customer service representative and she can chelp you."

Two Scrabulary words in once sentence! Woo hoo!  \o/

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 5-4 "PRANSFER"

PRANSFER = PUT YOU THROUGH + TRANSFER

In my position as receptionist/cashier, I answer incoming calls and transfer them to the appropriate person or department.  I usually say:  "I will put you through to [specific department], one moment please." Or "I will transfer you, one moment please."  However,  I have recently caught myself saying:

"I will pransfer you, one moment, please."

Just being efficient,
~Scrabulary Chris :D
