Scrabulary Word of the Day - 4-30 "STACK"

STACK = STATIC + SHOCK

I went to give Beetie a kiss goodbye before I headed off to work.  I got close to his lips and stopped short.  He looked at me quizzically and I said:

"I just don't want to stack your lips when I kiss you!"

In this dry climate, kisses can hurt!

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 4-20 "HIP AND A SKOP"

HIP AND A SKOP = HOP AND A SKIP

My son, who lives in Florida, sent this Scrabulary creation.  In true Scrabulary form it is a scramble of  letters to create a new word/phrase, albeit the meaning remains the same.  He was sharing with a friend the distance between his home and the dance studio where he teaches and said:

"From my house to the studio? Just a hip and a skop away."

I wish he lived only a hip and a skop away from me. :'(

Scrabulary Word of the Day 4-10

BRUSTED = BROKEN + BUSTED

Swuvie had run across a theory that the hairline at the back of the neck of a person could determine the sex of the next sibling to be born.  I looked at her hairline and it was straight across indicating that the next sibling should have been of the same sex (whereas, if her hairline had come to a point, the next sibling should have been of the opposite sex).  Well, her brother was born 22 months after she was. So I said:

"Theory brusted!"

Another "old wive's tale" put to rest,

Scrabulary Word of the Day 4-02

SHANCE = SHOT + CHANCE

I had used these same combination of words in a different order that formed the Scrabulary word "chot" in a past blog.  Swuvie blurted out the above Scrabulary word when answering me about whether or not I should add mustard to the macaroni salad dressing.  She said:

"Go ahead, take a shance."

It was soooo yummy! Glad I took a shance.
