Scrabulary Word of the Day 4-25

I DON'T MATTER = I DON'T CARE + IT DOESN'T MATTER

Today Swuvie asked a customer in what order they would like the different flavors of ice cream on their cone and the customer glibly said "I don't matter".  Oh really?  Funny stuff.

I say the least favorite on top and the most favorite in the cone [it will be the best for last]---yuuuum!

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 4-19

MESHY = MESSY + MUSHY

While making dinner, I was whipping sweet potatoes with an electric mixer that could only operate at warp speed.  After bits of potato made their way to the front of my shirt, I looked down, started wiping the bits off and said "Aw, these sweet potatoes are meshy!"

Time to do laundry,

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 4-17

MAINU = MAIN + MENU

While watching previous seasons of the funniest most well written sitcom on current network television called "Big Bang Theory", Donut wanted to skip to a particular episode and said "Let's go to the mainu to find it."  Good one, Donut!

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 4-16

PUDDYTITTY = PUDDYTAT + KITTY

When my kids were growing up they always thought I spoke sweeter to the animals than I did to them.  I admit I did talk to the animals in babytalk.  Just today I was talking to Swuvie's cat, Tati.  I was telling her how sweet and adorable she was.  I said [in babytalk] "Aw, Tati, you are such a sweet wittle puddytitty."  Out popped this Scrabulary word and at first I was a little embarrassed but then Swuvie started to laugh and pretty soon we were ROTFL.

From embarrassment to belly laugh,

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 4-12

DEFECT = DEFEND + PROTECT

In Swuvie's new Zombie game, she said "You have to defect your home, property, possessions and loved ones."  There she goes trying to get her thoughts out too fast and Scrabularizing words again!  Good job!

Swuvie is becoming a regular "Scrabulary Supporter Reporter" or is "Scrabulite" a better word for one who shares Scrabulary words with us in this blog?  Let me know what you think. And send in your Scrabulary words, too!

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 4-11

LANKLES = LEGS + ANKLES

After a full day at work on my feet, I sat on the couch w/a good meal and movie.  Got up to go to bed and said "Ugh, my lankles ache."

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 4-10

DIRSHES = DIRTY + DISHES

After a wonderful evening w/Donut and Swuvie eating eggplant lasagna and watching Outbreak w/Morgan Freeman and Dustin Hoffman (excellent movie) it was time to go to bed.  I said "I'm off to bed but I should clear away the dirshes, first."

Dirshes cleared away--nighty-night!
(Now who's gonna rinse them and put them in the dishwasher?)

SELPFUL = SWEET + HELPFUL

Scrabulary Word of the Day 4-07

BRUD = BREAD + BLOOD

So, even talking to God is not exempt from a Scrabulary word creation.  In a prayer during communion w/bread and wine the person praying most reverently said "Lord, we partake of this brud in remembrance of You."

Old time religion Scrabularized,

Scrabulary Word of the Day - 4-06

PREDENTIAL = PRESIDENTIAL + POTENTIAL

A TV personality, Jay Leno, fell prey to Scrabulary.  I was watching Leno interview a political figure (whose name escapes me right now) and Leno asked this fellow who he thought was a prediential candidate for the next election.  I don't remember the guy's response because I was too caught up in the fact that Leno had created a Scrabulary word--cool!

My ears stay tuned to Scrabulary words everywhere.

Scrabulary Word of the Day 4-05

SHON = SHANNON + DON

Once again I catch our news reporters uttering a Scrabulary word!  When KKTV News 11 co-anchors Shannon and Don cut to their field reporter Alisa, she said "Hello Shon" (then caught and corrected herself).  Hee-hee!

No one is immune,

Scrabulary Word of the Day 4-04

BILLET = BISCUIT + SKILLET

This word popped out in frustration some years ago while trying to prepare dinner.  I was trying to bake homemade biscuits in a skillet in the oven.  My oven temperature was not consistent so I said "I can't seem to get the billet hot enough!" Which meant I couldn't get the skillet hot enough to cook the biscuits.

When my thoughts run ahead of my words--Scrabulary!!

Scrabulary Word of the Day 4-02

CUFFER COP = COFFEE CUP

I do love green tea.  However, those puny tea cups are not large enough. I prefer a soup bowl size cup.  So Beetie brought home a
26 oz. cuffer cop for me.  Now that's a perfect cup of tea!

Bottoms up!
